GF/DF...It's What's for Dinner

Taco Salad


1 pound hamburger browned and drained

Stir in:

2/3 cup water

1 Tbsp chili powder

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp garlic

¼ tsp cayenne pepper

1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Simmer 15 minutes, cool 10 minutes.



In bowl, mix:


1 medium head lettuce, cut up

1 cup shredded cheese (we don't use this, obviously)

1 can olives, sliced

2 medium tomatoes, chopped

Toss with ¾ cup Thousand Island dressing (We use equal parts of mayo and ketchup for the dressing.)


Serve over tortilla chips.

Top with sliced avocado (optional).
